Adaptive Reuse of the Al-Khatib House

The purpose of the study is to adaptively reuse the place while preserving the original structure of the building. The Al-Khatib House in As-Salt City in the middle of Jordan will be converted into a heritage café reflecting the ethics of preserving and reviving the heritage identity by involving the methods used in the past. In addition, heritage patterns will be applied in all their specifics in the interior design of all its architectural components, and extensions by reviewing the literature relevant to the heritage, restoration, preservation, and adaptive reuse of the heritage buildings. The applied analytical descriptive approach was used through the collection and use of data at the coffee shop. The study showed the cultural and heritage identity of the city of As-Salt through the adaptive reuse of the house of Al-Khatib, to provide improvements and solutions and how to practice them by highlighting the requirements for the preservation of heritage and how to use it later from the authorities and individuals.
