Emotions play an important role in controlling human behavior. An understanding and proactive artificial intelligence should have a component comparable to human emotion. Psychology has various models for explaining and predicting human behavior. Personality and motivation are linked to emotions on various levels and can jointly explain behavior. This paper examines emotions, motivation and personality from a psychological perspective and transfers the findings from there to an emotional machine.
