In the information era, various information technologies are widely applied in various industries and have attracted close attention from the public. English translation has always been an important module in the translation industry, and the use of various information technologies to assist English translation has become an industry trend. The types of English translation applications based on information technology include intelligent tutors, automatic translation, automatic translation testing, translation robots, etc., which promote the continuous optimization and innovation of the English translation industry. To study the application of information technology in English translation in the information era, this paper first explores the development background of information technology in the English translation industry. Based on this, an intelligent English automatic translation system is proposed, which studies the significance of the system for intelligent English translation from three aspects: text analysis, speech synthesis, and prosody control. Experimental data shows that, compared with the experimental comparison data, the system studied in this paper has a lower deviation value and a higher degree of fit between language and natural English expression, indicating that the translation quality of this system is better.
