This paper, by analyzing the deficiencies of the current sports course selection systems and combining big data analytics with intelligent recommendation algorithms, has designed a sports course selection platform based on big data. The platform aims to meet students’ personalized course selection needs and enhance the management efficiency of sports courses. It mainly comprises modules for user management, course information management, intelligent recommendation, and data analysis, capable of deeply excavating students’ course selection habits and sports interests. The platform employs a series of data collection technologies to gather students’ sports preferences, participation records, and related social data, thereby constructing student profiles to achieve personalized recommendations. The sports course selection platform based on big data can enhance students’ satisfaction and participation in course selection while improving the scientific and real-time nature of teaching management. It not only provides a new management idea for physical education in universities but also lays a practical foundation for the application of big data technology in the field of education.
