Following the critical examination of the post-growth approaches in Chapter Three, the present chapter looks into some of the alternative economic systems that can provide insights and learnings that can help improve the present system. These include modern as well as ancient economic systems. In the process, the weaknesses of the modern systems are indicated and addressed by incorporating the good ideas from the ancient economic systems. Here, the idea is to think about an alternative system that would integrate the strengths of both approaches to create a more sustainable and equitable model.
