Linking the Upanishads to Freud
摘要
This chapter explores the influence of Upanishadic thought throughout continental Europe in the 1800s, particularly through Schelling, Schopenhauer and Nietzsche. It then examines how all three of these authors were direct influences on Freud and most likely on early topographic psychoanalytic theory. It concludes with Freud’s direct view on mysticism.
