Minority Textbook Writers’ Cognition and Agency
摘要
This chapter discusses the push and pull dynamics that exist between the philosophy underpinning the government endorsed Grades 7-9 MIE English textbooks and the teacher cognition and agency of teachers who use them. The chapter pushes forward the analysis drawn so far to engage in a discussion on textbook conceptualisation, designing and writing by minority textbook writers, as us, the authors of this book. The chapter concludes by mapping out what a complex process any curricular reform is, where the cognition, agency as well as the actions of the different stakeholders do not align.
