Community Perceptions of Climate Change Governance
摘要
This chapter presents local communities’ perceptions of climate change governance practices, considering aspects such as accountability, transparency, participation, governance effectiveness and resources. In this chapter, the following research question will be answered: ‘What is the level of participation of local communities in climate change governance practices’. This chapter also shows the demographic characteristics of participants in the selected communities, including their age structure, educational level, marital status, occupational patterns and housing types. A discussion follows about the respondents’ perceptions of climate change, the relationships of stakeholders, and climate change governance practices at the local level (based on selected criteria). The chapter then examines challenges at the local level. For data collection purposes, a semi-structured questionnaire was used to interview household heads and KIs, and an open-ended FGD checklist was used in the study areas.
