Climate Change Governance Practices of Governmental Organisations in Bangladesh
摘要
This chapter demonstrates how government institutions operate various activities focusing on climate change issues. A semi-structured interview schedule provides answers specific to the research questions ‘What are the roles of GOs in planning and implementing various climate change-related projects and programs?’ and ‘How is the climate change governance issue reflected in various GOs’ actions?’. This chapter first discusses the roles of various government departments in climate change-related activities. It then discusses briefly various government climate change-related plans and strategies. The chapter then examines the climate change governance practices of GOs, including their institutional arrangements, accountability, transparency, stakeholder participation, the effectiveness of activities, and resource dependency and fund mobilisation strategies. Further, it describes the successes and challenges of GOs in managing climate change-related activities.
