In Chap. 2 it has been said that analytic philosophy assumes that philosophy is not acquisition of knowledge, that is, an inquiry aimed at acquiring knowledge of the world, philosophy aims only to understand what we already know. This chapter considers the arguments of analytic philosophy for this view and argues that they are not valid.
