Layerless PBF: Part Formation
摘要
Formation of an inclined layer and its processing leads to the creation of a block having steps—this is a processed layer. Since a part consists of many layers—a part must be conceptualized in the form of an aggregation of such layers. Consider a part that consists of more than one layer. For fabrication of the second layer, processing must happen on the first layer that is a triangular block having one end at the level of the build plane while the other end is nearest to the platform surface. Powder spreading followed by stepwise processing can start at any of the two ends of the platform. At one end, where the upper surface of the block is at the level of the build plane, the platform needs to go down to accommodate the powder and start the processing. But, after that, the platform does not need to go down because there already exists enough space above the sloped surface to be filled up and processed.
