Classification: Powder Bed Process
摘要
Powder bed process (PBP) is a generic name for AM processes in which a powder bed (PB) is created and selectively joined to make a part. PB means a thin layer of powder spread on a platform (or horizontal surface). Variation in PB or joining brings variation in PBP. For example, if PB is compacted by applying pressure, it is no longer similar to PB created by spreading powders. The compaction creates another process. In other examples of variation, if powders are joined by two types: 1) completely melting using a high-energy beam and 2) interlocking using a binder, then these two types are not the same process.
