Quantum Computing for Sustainable Supply Chains: Unlocking Efficiency, Environmental Progress and Challenges
摘要
Supply chain management has to undergo a paradigm shift in response to the increasing global demands for sustainability. Improvements toward environmental goals are hampered by the fact that the majority of conventional optimization models of such issues do not take into account the complexity and volume of supply chains today. Artificial intelligence combined with quantum computing offers a solution for some issues that cannot be solved by computation, and as a result, it offers exciting opportunities to transform supply chain operations for sustainability and efficiency. This study examines how quantum computing might enhance several facets of green supply chains, from inventory control and logistics optimization to energy use and material discovery. We outline the potential applications of quantum algorithms to tackle major sustainability issues, such as cutting emissions, cutting waste, and maximizing resource use. Quantum computing is essential to achieving the full potential of ethical, environmentally friendly, and effective supply chains due to current limitations and opportunities for further study in this field.
