Scheduling plays a key role in optimizing resource utilization and improving efficiency in modern production and service systems. Among the widely studied scheduling problems, hybrid flow shop with multiprocessor scheduling is a significant extension of the traditional flow shop model, incorporating multiple machines at one or more stages. This added flexibility makes them valuable in industrial and service areas, including manufacturing, logistics, and health. However, the complexity from multiple stages and parallel machines poses challenges in developing efficient solution approaches. This study reviews recent advances in hybrid flow shop with multiprocessor scheduling, classifies existing solution methodologies, and highlights their practical implications across industries. A systematic literature review, complemented by bibliometric analysis using RStudio Bibliometrix, was conducted. The Scopus database was used for data collection. The study identifies the most common models and objective functions, annual growth trends, influential journals and researchers, leading universities and countries in publication volume, and highly cited papers. A notable contribution is the classification of methodologies and research trajectories. The identification of key authors and institutions offers valuable insights for researchers seeking collaborations or recognizing main contributors in the field. Finally, it highlights research gaps and suggests directions for future studies.
