Writing in a second language (L2) is a cognitively demanding process that requires self-regulation and confidence. This study investigates the impact of AI-assisted Self-Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD) instruction on L2 writing self-efficacy. A quasi-experimental design was implemented with 72 EFL students, divided into an experimental group receiving AI-enhanced SRSD instruction and a control group following traditional SRSD methods. Results from ANCOVA and t-tests revealed that the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group in post-test writing self-efficacy (p = 0.001, Cohen’s d = –0.806). This study suggests the need for future research employing rigorous designs to examine the long-term effects of AI-assisted SRSD across varied educational contexts.

摘要
