A Real-Time Gateway Hydroponic System Design
摘要
The objective of this study is to create an automated real-time monitoring system for hydroponic vegetable farming systems using IoT technologies and LoRa wireless networks. This system swiftly detects water quality fluctuations in key parameters including pH, temperature, humidity, light intensity, and flow rate, promoting stability and safety in water management. Field implementation in Dalat City, Vietnam (1500 m above sea level) demonstrated the system’s reliability in monitoring environmental conditions, with pH values maintaining optimal ranges between 5.4–6.5 and flow rates stabilizing at 2.5–3.0 l/min during the May to November 2023 testing period. By utilizing cloud-based storage and a user-friendly mobile application interface, the system simplifies data management and ensures long-term preservation of critical growth information. The integration of energy-efficient LoRa wireless networks with Internet connectivity optimizes water usage efficiency in production settings, overcoming installation challenges in remote locations with limited infrastructure. Results show consistent system performance even with significant daily temperature fluctuations (15–25 ℃), providing growers with actionable data to improve crop yields and quality through precise environmental control.
