Like any other sector in the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0), the healthcare sector is heavily dependent on technology, particularly information and communications technology (ICT) for data collection and information dissemination. Digital healthcare system is key to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) which relies on data to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for everyone at all ages. With electronic healthcare (eHealth), the cyberspace is increasingly populated with health-related data whose security is of primary concern. Unauthorized access to health data (patients’, infrastructure and organizational data) is a serious breach of confidence and privacy that can jeopardize healthcare services and by extension, impede the timelines and milestones of SDG 3 by the target year of 2030. This paper proposes a muti-factor authentication framework using structured analysis and design for checkmating unauthorized access to data in the healthcare industry.

摘要
