The use of structural analysis methodologies is fundamental to assess the vulnerability of buildings for tsunami loading due to the scarcity of empirical data. This recipe presents a novel engineering method, namely the Variable Depth Pushover (VDPO) analysis. This approach is used to generate tsunami analytical fragility functions, as well as to support tsunami performance-based design methodologies.
