In this chapter, we explore the experimental findings, theoretical foundations, and computational models of intentions. Intentions serve as a fundamental characteristic of agents. They play dual roles: functioning as powerful tools for understanding and predicting human behavior [542], while also serving as a key distinguishing feature between agents and inanimate objects [543].
