The upsurge in street art during the Al-Qiyada Sit-in in April 2019, and its subsequent proliferation in the public space, established this political practice as “the art of the revolution” and attracted substantial media attention. Based on a qualitative enquiry in Khartoum, this chapter analyses the transformation of the art scene from the revolution to the transitional period, focusing on the consequences of media attention and hype surrounding street-art that have led to new among the artists between those conforming to Western expectations and market demands and those who find themselves marginalized. Through the lens of street art and its development, this research highlights the diverse models of the new society envisioned by various stakeholders on the art scene.
