Understanding the Potential Benefits of GenAI in Educational Institutions
摘要
The integration of GenAI technology in educational institutions represents an important technological shift with far-reaching implications for teaching, learning, and administrative processes. This research study is about understanding the current landscape of GenAI adoption in educational institutions worldwide, drawing insights from a multinational survey of universities across six continents. The research findings reveal varying levels of GenAI familiarity and implementation among institutions, with approximately 45% already utilising GenAI in their institution and another 30% showing interest despite not yet implementing it. While educational institutions demonstrate considerable interest in applications such as personalised learning, grading assistant, and faculty content support, they consistently identify challenges including system integration difficulties, data privacy concerns, and technical expertise limitations. This research shows the complex interplay between technological opportunity and institutional readiness, providing a foundation for educational leaders to make informed decisions about GenAI implementation strategies.
