Technology has undoubtedly improved the efficiency of daily activities and revolutionized human interaction in social life. This research focuses on analyzing advances in financial technology (fintech) usage and proposes an index to measure its adoption in Mexico. The proposed indicator includes two key variables from the National Survey on Availability and Use of Information Technologies in Households (ENDUTIH) 2022, conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), (Marco geo-estadístico. Technical report, INEGI & IFT, 2024). The new indicator evaluates fintech usage across Mexican states, including Mexico City, referred to as federal entities.
