We summarize known results on the existence of rainbow 3-term arithmetic progressions within 3-colorings of various ground sets, such as finite intervals, cyclic groups, and general Abelian groups. This problem represents the foundational question in the study of the existence of rainbow structures under density conditions on the color classes, inspiring numerous works and generalizations within this area of Rainbow Ramsey Theory.
