This paper explores the evolution of the Gamified Educational Network (GEN) Learning management System (LMS), an innovative LMS designed a Design-Based Research approach, to support gamified and simulation-based learning. It highlights seven key projects that shaped its development, providing an overview of each initiative, the integration of new features, and improvements in usability over time. Usability studies show a steady increase in user satisfaction, reinforcing the platform’s effectiveness in enhancing experiential learning. By leveraging the GEN LMS platform and serious games, educators can create dynamic learning experiences that go beyond passive knowledge recall, fostering deeper engagement, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. Currently the GEN LMS is being revised to allow Virtual Reality-based simulations to be supported.

摘要
