Virtual reality (VR)-based applications offer a transformative potential for sharing and communicating digital cultural heritage. This article presents “Djerba View VR”, a project aimed at showcasing Tunisia’s cultural sites through immersive VR experiences. By using a user-centered design (UCD) approach, the study highlights the contribution of 3D reconstitution and immersive storytelling to improve accessibility, usability, and user engagement. The application of UCD principles has enabled the creation of intuitive interfaces, compelling narratives, and realistic reconstructions, overcoming technical barriers and extending access beyond traditional museums. The results indicate that a UCD-based approach to VR enhances the user experience, deepens understanding of cultural heritage, and offers a transferable model for future digital heritage mediation projects.

摘要
