Development and Evaluation of an Augmented Reality Tool for Training Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion Interventions
摘要
Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) is a procedure designed to prevent stroke in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients who cannot use oral anticoagulation therapy due to high bleeding risk. LAAO training tools enhance operator proficiency through realistic procedural simulation. They reduce learning curves while improving patient safety outcomes. The main goal of this work is the development and evaluation of an augmented reality (AR) LAAO procedure training software using the Unity Engine for the Meta Quest 3 device. The software enables users to observe and analyze patient-specific left atrium models to select the optimal LAAO device, utilizing hand tracking technology for intuitive interaction. Clinicians evaluated the application, providing feedback for enhancements such as real-time data extraction, device deformation features, and multi-user support.
