Immersive Questionnaire Framework for Perception Research Studies
摘要
The environment has a profound influence on our perception, mood, and senses. The lack of quantifiable research on this topic instigated the development of a VR framework for conducting experiments involving perception within different virtual environments. In this paper, we present a framework designed to facilitate conducting such experiments, including creating virtual environments, constructing in-VR questionnaires, conducting VR experiments and collecting data for further analysis. The solution is split between three interconnected parts, the scenario creator that is used to create the virtual environment and questionnaire, the server that coordinates the execution of the experiment including serving necessary audiovisual resources and collecting the data in a database, and a VR application that provides an interactive immersive experience for the participants of the study. As a preliminary study, we demonstrate the suitability of the framework for a study on the influence of the environment on the perception of food and drink.
