One of the key factors in fostering the development of weak territorial contexts is tourism. The first step in improving this sector is to obtain deeper understanding of it, in order to implement the right strategies and actions, through knowledge acquisition and analysis. With this aim, in this paper, a Business Intelligence platform developed for the Basilicata Region (Italy) is shown. This case study falls under one of the Priority Axes of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the framework of the Cohesion Policy, aimed at supporting and stimulating the growth of less developed areas.
