Acceptance Level of A.I. Usage in the Higher Educational Sector of the Kingdom of Bahrain
摘要
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a revolutionizing phenomenon in several industries, bringing maximum attention to leverage the usefulness of operational efficiency, productivity, and decision-making. Above all, AI is considered beneficial within the educational sector, mainly higher education, where its acceptance is seemingly mingled with worries of misuse, ethical quandaries, and the shifting of position held by educators. This is an abridged context, since AI is a rapidly changing phenomenon, and research studies exploring such exotic technologies are still less in number. The study aims to investigate the acceptance of AI technology within the private higher educational institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, focusing specifically on senior academic staff: senior lecturers and deans, and other key decision-makers. Using primarily a quantitative research approach, the study engages with structured interviews that allow for an in-depth exploration of the attitudes and beliefs toward AI's role in educational practices. Opinions are gathered from senior lecturers, chancellors, and distinguished academics using a quantitative research approach through structured interviews designed to assess their perspectives on the adoption and integration of A.I. tools in educational practices such as the preparation of class materials, subject content creation, and assessment processes. This study will lay the groundwork for developing policies that promote the advantageous adoption of A.I. in higher education while minimizing possible threats.
