The Tech Trap: Higher Education Faculty and Digital Strain

Education providers are the backbone of every society. They build the nation's future by shaping the youth into a perfect individual who can sustain themselves in society by working in different fields. The introduction of AI and other related technologies is making the education system of today more and more technologically dependent with an agenda of easy asses to the provision of education to the students, which indirectly creates a burden of technology on the education providers, which can be seen more predominantly in the education providers who are working in the higher education sector which is termed as technostress. Whatever data available on the technostress is from Western countries, with the availability of very minimal data from the Middle East and Asian countries. The present research work aims to explore the status of the technostress on the education providers working in the higher education sector, where the factors affecting leading sources and the impact the technostress is creating on the education providers are explored. The results clearly show that among the leading sources, having too much technological software has been seen to be playing a critical role in creating the technostress. Among the factors leading to technostress job insecurity is seen among the major factor leading to technostress. Among the impact created by technostress it is seen role ambiguity is shown a major concern, creating a significant impact on the performance of employees.
