Corporate Social Responsibility in a Private Academic Institution: Impact on Achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals
摘要
CSR, or corporate social responsibility, is essential to promoting societal progress and addressing global issues. With an emphasis on how they contribute to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN, this study examines the CSR initiatives of a private educational institution in Butuan City, Philippines. The study explicitly examines how these CSR initiatives support the beneficiaries’ moral, financial, and sociocultural growth. Forty employees and forty-seven students were specifically chosen to participate in the study, which employed a descriptive-correlational methodology. To assess the scope and efficacy of the organization's CSR initiatives, information was gathered via surveys. The results show that the beneficiaries’ economic and personal well-being has greatly benefited from community extension services (CES), such as livelihood and training initiatives. By fostering social responsibility, self-reliance, and skill improvement, these programs have empowered people. To better match with the UN SDGs and maximize their societal benefits, the report emphasizes the necessity of strengthening CSR activities. Additionally, it offers a CSR framework to improve program implementation and tackle current issues. According to the study, in order to provide a more comprehensive understanding of CSR's function in educational settings, future research should expand by incorporating a number of private institutions.
