Undertourism and Destination Management in the Inner Areas. The Case of Locride, Reggio Calabria
摘要
This work illustrates the first results of an experimental activity conducted in a territory characterized by a strong peripherality, located in the southern part of Calabria. The study starts from an examination of the role of Cultural Heritage and Tourism for the development of Inner Areas. Among the tools identified to promote the triggering of processes of touristic enhancement of Cultural Heritage, Destination Management Organizations are identified, whose characteristics are outlined, highlighting their function in terms of Strategic Planning. After recalling the process in which this type of process is usually articulated and the fundamental role of Evaluation, the territory object of the case study is framed, especially in relation to the relevance of its Cultural Heritage. The work concludes by illustrating the results of the first cognitive investigations conducted in the field through questionnaires administered to a group of tourist-cultural operators.
