The Carpus and Hand
摘要
This chapter considers the specific layout of the palm (with some comparisons to the sole of the foot). The flexor retinaculum is discussed along with the surgical anatomy of carpal tunnel release. The layered structure of the palm is considered as is the superficial and deep palmar arch and the median and ulnar nerves in the hand (with comparison to the medial and lateral plantar nerves respectively). There is a discussion of the extensor hood mechanism of insertion of the extensor tendons, the insertion of the flexor tendons into the digits and of the anatomy of the palmar spaces in hand sepsis.
