This chapter considers the flexor and extensor compartments and arrangements of the forearm along with their relevant compartmental nerves (median, ulnar and posterior interosseous). Martin-Gruber (and variant) anastomotic connexions between the median and ulnar nerve (Marinacci, Riche-Cannieu and Berrettini) are discussed. The layout of the superficial and deep flexor musculature is described in detail as is the arrangement of the 12 extensor muscles and tendons and their separate compartments and synovial sheaths under the extensor retinaculum.

摘要

This chapter considers the flexor and extensor compartments and arrangements of the forearm along with their relevant compartmental nerves (median, ulnar and posterior interosseous). Martin-Gruber (and variant) anastomotic connexions between the median and ulnar nerve (Marinacci, Riche-Cannieu and Berrettini) are discussed. The layout of the superficial and deep flexor musculature is described in detail as is the arrangement of the 12 extensor muscles and tendons and their separate compartments and synovial sheaths under the extensor retinaculum.
