This edited volume brings together international experts and practitioners to explore the latest innovations and challenges in work-integrated learning (WIL) in reshaping educational systems for adult learners. In response to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the emergence of Gen AI, this volume provides a timely and significant contribution to WIL for adult learners, addressing the gaps in existing WIL literature and offering new insights into the world of adult learners. Unlike traditional postsecondary learners, adult learners bring many life experiences to the learning process, tend to be more self-directed, and have different motivations and learning styles. The cases presented in this volume are current and informative, providing suggestions on designing and developing WIL programs that cater to adult learners’ unique needs, such as how WIL providers can improve their support systems and delivery modes and tailor learning experiences for adult learners.
