Immunosensors represent a dynamic and rapidly developing field of biosensor technology that uses specific antigen—antibody interactions to detect biomolecules. In this area, recent innovations have produced immunosensors with advanced immunosensing capabilities, very high sensitivity, and specificity. Key advances include various nanomaterials, such as gold nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and quantum dots (QDs), which promote signal transduction and facilitate miniaturisation. The advent of microfluidic systems and lab-on-chip devices have enabled rapid on-site analysis of specimens. Furthermore, the emergence of advanced transmission techniques, including electrochemical, optical, and piezoelectric techniques, has opened up a new avenue in the applications of immunosensors. The immunosensors have been utilised as diagnostic instruments for a number of disorders brought on by bacteria, viruses, prions, and unchecked cell proliferation. As immunosensor technology continues to develop, it holds great promise for personalised medicine, environmental monitoring, and public health monitoring. Artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques can be used for real-time data analysis, making the process faster and easier. The potential benefits of these immunosensor devices are quite promising in the realm of their ability to support early identification of various diseases and thus can play a critical role in preventing outbreaks of diseases. In this way, advanced immunosensor technology would certainly enhance the quality of our lives and overcome the global health challenges. In this chapter, we explore how advanced immunosensor technology has the potential to significantly boost the quality of our lives and help overcome global health challenges.

摘要
