After-Treatment Technology: Operation and Maintenance
摘要
Renewable fuels, often known as biofuels, are being created and utilized in automobiles in an attempt to lower greenhouse gas emissions. The most popular of these are bioethanol and biodiesel, which are mixed in different proportions with gasoline and diesel fuels derived from petroleum. As a result, the fossil carbon emissions from these fuels are somewhat reduced. A far smaller amount of biomethane, which is made from biogas, may and is utilized as car fuel. To use biomethane in a motor vehicle, significant changes must be made. Operating and emission control technologies can be created to reduce the negative impact that using biofuel will have on vehicle emissions, given enough time and effort. However, this will necessitate that automobiles be appropriately built to run on particular biofuels or blends of biofuels. Even as the usage of transportation fuels increases, renewable fuels may result in a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
