Percutaneous Ventricular Septal Defect Closure in Adults
摘要
VSD is one of the most common congenital heart defects, with a high likelihood of spontaneous closure. Thanks to rapid advancements in technology, transcatheter VSD closure has become a routine procedure, offering high success rates and low complication rates when appropriate cases and devices are selected. In addition to congenital VSDs, acquired forms such as post-MI VSR and post-traumatic VSDs can occur. Given the high mortality rate associated with surgical repair of post-MI VSR, there has been a growing preference for transcatheter septal closure in these patients.
