摘要
The design and development of serious games for social awareness have a positive impact on the promotion of empathy and social reflection. In this sense, serious games can be proposed from the academic classrooms of universities focused on the study of digital design. This research explains the design and development of a serious game that addresses the social problems of the user’s journey to access public transportation in Ciudad Juárez, located in northern Mexico, on the border with the United States. It is a prototype of a serious game where activities are represented as obstacles, which are everyday experiences that the public transport user has to achieve the objective of traveling to a specific place. The prototype was tested among university student users to determine the usability of the game, as well as the aesthetic design. The Arcade methodology was used for the design and development of the prototype. The findings identified were that the user detects usability errors in the first use test of the game, which is modified. Likewise, it is possible to represent social problems through serious games, which motivate reflection and dialogue to have an approach to possible solutions. The serious game was positively accepted by the target audience, they detected areas of improvement in the game as well as feedback on the problem being addressed, they are students of the interactive media digital design program at the University of Ciudad Juárez.
