The Turkish government spared no effort to ensure that the extermination of the Armenians was as comprehensive as possible. In the previous chapter, we provided accounts of many of the massacres that occurred. The merciless cruelty with which these atrocities were committed – atrocities against which all human consciousness rebels – becomes easier to comprehend after reading the relevant cables sent by the government regarding these acts.
