We show how vector space concepts supply an orderly organizational structure for the capabilities acquired in Chaps. 1 and 2 . To maintain the computational perspective, attention is directed to the numerical issues of rank fragility and error control through norm preservation. Section 3.4 elaborates on the abstract notion of the linear transformation and its role in matrix algebra. Projects include examples of linear transformations from kinematics.
