This chapter describes the underpinnings and framework of the Life History methodology—Read, Interpret, Script, Perform (RISP). We describe the process and procedure of literary Life Histories so that our methodology can be replicated in multiple and varied contexts. We also present portraits of our first forays into literary Life Histories in two university courses.
