The aim of this chapter is to examine how the musical traditions of Central Asia are presented and reinterpreted within museums. It focuses on institutions in Almaty, Bishkek, and Tashkent, which use the display of instruments, exhibition design, and interpretive frameworks to construct narratives of both nomadic and settled heritage. The analysis considers how exhibitions highlight the role of music in rituals, oral traditions, and daily life. It also discusses how museums frame music as a marker of historical continuity and national identity.
