Through a documentary analysis approach the chapter critically exposes how European and specifically Italian institutions relate to youth with a migrant background. It explores the tensions connected with addressing cultural diversity issues and related prejudices, often generating situations of inequality. Within this framework, it addresses Italian media’s role in constructing a specific image of poor, educationally weak, and potentially dangerous migrant children and youth. It reviews intervention models within Italian policies: refugee homes, territorial network, and independent living flats. It discusses present lines of intervention and provisions also in relation to digital affordances.
