Change is the only constant in this fast-evolving world, and education is no exception. The pandemic has significantly disrupted traditional teaching methods, particularly classroom instruction. Prolonged lockdowns and extended hours of online teaching have led to disengagement among learners. To overcome these challenges and make learning more enjoyable, this research proposes gamification as an effective strategy. Gamification can involve the students in the teaching–learning process and make them learn the basic concepts very quickly and easily. Games could be effectively used to develop and implement the correct technology to raise the quality of education. It is also of paramount importance to equip the teachers to effectively use computer technology to impart game-based education. In Colombia, the lack of widespread computer literacy presents an initial hurdle in implementing such strategies. Consequently, securing skilled professionals from other parts of the world may be necessary in the early stages. Given the promising results from preliminary studies, this project presents a timely and valuable opportunity to foster collective development among learners. Encouragingly, learner feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing the potential impact of this approach.

摘要
