Culture of Peace and Community Prevention Measures in the Families of the Rural Parishes of Tungurahua—Ecuador
摘要
The present study analyzes the promotion of the culture of peace in the rural parishes of Tungurahua: Ambatillo, Baquerizo Moreno, Montalvo, Pilahuín, San Bartolomé de Pinllo, Río Negro and Santa Rosa, with the objective of examining the community perception of the integrity and dignity of its inhabitants through field research and verified bibliographic sources. The results indicate that many people have experienced some type of violence, mainly physical and psychological, with excessive alcohol consumption being one of the main causes of these attacks. In addition, a broad lack of knowledge about reporting protocols was identified, which limits the effectiveness of protection and community empowerment measures. In rural sectors, the normalization of violence responds to deep-rooted sociocultural patterns; therefore, it is advisable to strengthen community education, establish local support networks, and guarantee access to clear information on reporting mechanisms. These actions will allow us to build safer and more equitable environments, promoting a culture of sustainable peace in the families of rural parishes in Ecuador.
