Multimedia applications and games have become essential tools in rehabilitation and healthcare, providing an interactive and engaging approach that enhances patient motivation, enables progress tracking, and supports personalized treatment plans. These applications offer an innovative platform for both physical and cognitive therapy, allowing healthcare professionals to explore novel treatment methods while offering patients a more enjoyable and effective recovery experience. Despite recent advancements in hardware and software, there remains a need for integrated solutions that streamline the development of new applications, particularly those that leverage body-tracking sensors. This paper introduces a framework designed to simplify the creation of natural user interface (NUI) applications based on inertial sensors, supporting functionalities such as tracking, session creation, and data storage. Additionally, we present examples of applications developed using our framework, demonstrating its potential to facilitate new applications that utilize the user’s body as a primary interaction medium.
