In this chapter, plasma images are processed using Fourier holograms (Goodman in Introduction to fourier optics and holography, Roberts & Company Publishers, Greenwood Village, 2005; Hamed in Opt Appl 13:205–213, 1983; Hamed in Opt Photon J 1:52–58, 2011; Hamed and Saudy in Opt Photon J 4:136–142, 2014; Macgregor in Am J Phys 60:839–846, 1992; Trester in Am J Phys 64:472–476, 1996; Pedrini et al. in Opt Commun 171:29–36, 1999; Wagner and Seebacher in Appl Opt 38:4812–4820, 1999; Bovik and Acton, Handbook of image and video processing, Academic Press, San Diego, 2000; Agour and Kolenovic in J Opt A Pure Appl Opt 11:105405, 2009) for coding and decoding the image. Improved reconstructed images are obtained using Wiener filtering. Profiles of the reconstructed images in both cases before filtering and after filtering are investigated.
