This chapter focuses on the relationship between women and violence between 1943 and 1945. Through the analysis of various sources, including oral testimonies and legal documents, we have attempted to reconstruct the sexual and nonsexual violence experienced by women, highlighting the attitudes and motives of those who perpetrated violence against them. Then we examine the challenges victims faced in reporting and narrating what they suffered due to the influences and stereotypes associated with the mindset and culture prevalent in the communities. Finally, we addresses the violence perpetrated by women, especially those affiliated with the Republic of Salò, actions that challenge gender stereotypes portraying women as distanced from acts of violence.
