This chapter brings the analysis of the previous empirical chapters together and answers the research question, explaining the different ways in which women journalists in proximity radios can access, interact with, and participate in conflict resolution and transformation processes. The research found five ways: women journalists can contribute to conflict resolution processes through peace-related media projects (1) by shaping the daily operational activities. They also shape discourses (2) on peace and conflict resolution on air in the shows they host. As women’s voices are rare on air, women journalists amplify women’s ‘quiet’ interaction (3), and render their concerns public. This amplification contributes to their concerns becoming public problems (4) that transgress the individual and private spheres. Last but not least, women journalists gain a special social status through which their competences as mediators (5) can be harnessed in their entourage.
